Jenny (she/they) is a writer, director, performer, and producer. She holds an MFA from the University of British Columbia, Department of Theatre & Film (2019). Jenny currently serves as the Artistic Director of Trinity St Players. Jenny is half of the creative team jkjk, and from 2008-2019 served as Artistic Director of new works company Salvage Vanguard Theater in Austin, TX. Jenny has directed over 30 world premiere theatre productions. She was named Best of Austin “Theater Director” by the Austin Chronicle (2016). In 2019, Jenny started writing plays, starting with collaborating on Catalina La O with khattie. In 2020, Catalina La O Presenta: Now With Me was winner of the Vancouver Fringe New Play Prize. The piece has been presented at OUTsider Festival in Austin, Ars Nova ANT Fest in NYC, and Queer Arts Festival in Vancouver, B.C. Jenny was a writer in residence with The Arts Club’s Emerging Playwrights Unit, the Playwright Theatre Centre in Vancouver, the New Harmony Project, and the Playwrights Gym at the Green Thumb. Jenny’s plays include Death by Bad Jokes: Stop Stop You’re Killing Me, Desperately Seeking Comfortable Shoes, and nora a Queer adaptation of Ibsen. Jenny’s work has shown in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Austin, New York, Indiana, Arkansas, Finland, Bulgaria, and Germany.
